On this page you will find the answers to our most commonly asked questions. If your question relates to any of the recipes themselves then please go to our Troubleshooting page which deals specifically with any baking questions you may have.
How long will my bread keep for? There are no artificial additives or preservatives in these breads so treat them as fresh bread. If kept in an airtight container they will last 2-3 days (although you'll be lucky if there is anything to put back in the tin once the first slice has been tasted!). |
Will the bread flours work in a bread maker? Yes, they both work in a bread maker and the instructions are on the reverse of both the bread flour and hi-fibre flour bags. |
Can I freeze any of my baking? Yes, you can. Each recipe has a footnote to tell you the best way to do this. For the breads we recommend refreshing the loaf/slices in the microwave once they are fully defrosted. |
Do I need to stock up on lots of ingredients? No, that's the beauty of these recipes. You don't need lots of ingredients, in fact most will already be in your kitchen cupboard. |
What happens if I have a problem with one of the recipes? Contact us with the details and we will sort the problem out. You can e-mail us or even call (during office hours, 09:30 – 17:00 GMT Monday to Friday) and we will advise you how to resolve the issue. |
Are the ready-baked foods suitable for those on a vegan diet? Yes, there are no animal-derived ingredients in any of them. |
Do you have any recipes for an egg-free or vegan diet? Yes, if you go to the recipe section on the site you will find notes telling you which ones, e.g. sticky gingerbread and any of the biscuits. |
Which of the flours makes pastry? You can use both the bread flour and cake flour for pastry. Our preference is for the bread flour in savoury items (e.g. pasties) and the cake for sweet, however, as neither have sugar added it is purely down to personal taste. |
Where can I buy your products? A From any health food shop, Farm Shop or independent retailer throughout the UK. Check our list of Stockists for your nearest one and if you don’t see one nearby let us know. We will happily arrange delivery to whichever is closest to you. Alternatively you can order online through our shop and we also send overseas (prices on request). |
